Becky has always had a passion for helping others, whether it’s through volunteering in her community or providing honest legal guidance to meet her clients’ needs.
After college, Becky worked as a writer for a daily newspaper in southern Minnesota. She covered local and state politics, city government issues and then moved into feature writing and an editor position, where she claimed several writing awards. It was through this experience, in which Becky honed her ability to tell other people’s stories in a compelling way, that led her to consider representing people in the legal system. During law school, Becky worked as a certified student attorney in the felony prosecution division at the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office. This position allowed Becky to build her courtroom skills and improve her ability to think quickly on her feet. Becky also participated in Hamline’s Child Advocacy Clinic, where she represented children and their families through difficult situations.
Becky joined J D Haas and Associates in 2009, focusing mainly on civil litigation and trial work. She now practices in the areas of personal injury litigation, real estate transactions, bankruptcy, family law and criminal defense. She also serves as the secretary/treasurer of the Steele County Bar Association and teaches second-grade Sunday school at her church in Owatonna. Becky enjoys playing volleyball, writing, and spending time with her husband and four children.
